When I chose to come to Romania, I knew I wanted to get here a little before winter hit. Just so I could get settled here without have to deal with snow or the really cold weather. Up to this past month it had be okay, yes, it was a lot colder than Bakersfield but it wasn't horrible :)
Well, last week that all changed! We got a huge snow storm and Arctic cold temperature's. In a week and a half we have gotten just under 2 feet of snow and it has below freezing ever since! Yes it pretty to look at for a while, but living in it is no fun! They say this is the worst winter in Timisoara, in over 15 years! In Romania, 41 people have died in their homes or cars (they slide off the road into a ditch and they car gets covered in snow). On train was delayed for over 50hrs with 400 passage on board!
I have tried to stay close to home, and only go out for necessity! But yesterday we went to the center to
for lunch and to play with the kids in the department of child protection! Below are pictures from the center :)
