Potter's House

I mentioned awhile back that I would be volunteering at an after school program. Well, I will finally get to start volunteering there! Because of the holidays and then school vacation and then I was gone, I hadn't been able to start there!

This program is run by a young married couple. She is a doctor and has a clinic and her husband is a high school teacher. They have a love for the children here in Timisoara. Right know they have 23 kids in the program. They start showing up at about 2pm and stay till 6pm, they are given a warm meal, help with homework, they spend time doing games, learning English,crafts, Bible story's and are given chores as well to help out.

Tuesday, I was able to help with a girl who is 30 years old and just in the second grade. She had spent most of her life doing drugs and prostitution. She is finally ready to get her life in order so she comes to the Potter House and they help her with homework! I worked with her on Math.

Today we did a Bible story, some games and helped with Math homework again (luckily I know all my numbers in Romanian) ! The kids there are so sweet! And are just wanting to be loved! I am excited to get to know these kids better! Volunteering here is also a great way to practice my Romanian, they love to teach me new words or phases and they think it is so funny if I say something wrong!
