Budapest

In the beginning of December, I was able to go to Budapest to see the Christmas markets. I went with another G*E*M missionary Lynn and Jessica who is teaching American studies at the University here in Timisoara. One thing that is great of being in Europe at Christmas is being able to participate in all there traditions! Almost every big city with have there own Christmas Market. The markets are held in the main town square with a bunch of kiosks selling goods or food! Most of the goods in Budapest were homemade. We also tried lots of yummy foods!

We only had on full day in Budapest, so we made the most of it and started exploring! We started at the covered market. Which is a large two story building with food on the bottom and shopping for souvenirs on the top floor. Unfortunately I didn't get in pictures in there. Then we headed to the Vaci Street which is also called the walking street. It is a long street with lots of stores. At the end was the Christmas market! So after exploring the market and the walking street. We headed to find the MAC store, a craft store and a Mexican food restaurant! And we where successful at finding all three!  After that we head to see the chain bridge. It was fun to explore Budapest! Hopefully we will be able make a few more trips up! Enjoy the pictures below!
