For Easter, they have fairs like they do at Christmas time. Not near as big but still fun to walk around. Below are pictures from the fair in Timisoara.
I also went to Sibiu to visit Bev who is another GEM missionary to celebrate Easter with her. Sibiu is in the middle of Romania and is a 7 hour train ride from Timisoara. It was fun to see another part of the country.
The Easter celebrations start on Thursday evening with a communion service at church, and another service on Friday night for Good Friday. Saturday is spent cooking and getting any last minute things done and Sunday is Church and then off to lunch. For lunch we went to a Romanian couples house, and we ate tons of food! I think we where served 4 or 5 different courses! Below is who I had lunch with.
In Romania many of the orthodox fast for the 40 days leading up to Easter, and then on Easter they stuff themselves! Because of this many people of rushed to the hospital to get their stomachs pumped! And usually they next day they have the statistics of many people went to the hospital.
